Swedish woman jailed for keeping Yazidi slaves in Syria
Lina Ishaq, a Swedish citizen, was found guilty of holding Yazidi women and children as slaves in Raqqa, Syria. The court convicted her of genocide, crimes against humanity, and serious war crimes, sentencing her to 12 years in prison. This is the first case in Sweden to address IS crimes against the Yazidi minority. Ishaq was already serving a jail sentence for taking her toddler son to Syria.
