Sweden to tighten gun laws following mass shooting

On Tuesday, a mass shooting occurred at the Campus Risbergska adult education centre in Rebro, Sweden, resulting in the deaths of 11 people. The perpetrator, identified as 35-year-old Swedish recluse Rickard Andersson, shot and killed 7 women and 3 men before turning the gun on himself and committing suicide. Andersson had a legitimate license to own at least 4 weapons, but the type of weapon used in the shooting is still unknown. The Swedish government has pledged to tighten gun control laws, including restrictions on AR-15-style semiautomatic weapons, and to improve vetting procedures for firearms licenses.
