Sweden lowers age requirement for legal gender change to 16
Sweden's parliament passed a new law that lowers the minimum age for legally changing one's gender from 18 to 16 years old. The bill received support from 234 out of 349 members, with 94 voting against it. The Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex Rights (RFSL) proposed two new laws to replace existing legislation.
