Sweden accuses Iran of cyberattack linked to Quran burning controversy

Multiple sources report that Iran's intelligence service is accused of hacking into a Swedish text messaging service, resulting in the sending of 15,000 messages to Swedish individuals in the summer of 2023. The messages, which called for "revenge against Quran burners," were allegedly sent in response to protests involving the burning of the Quran, which were held under Sweden's freedom of speech act.
