Suspect charged with murder in fatal US shooting of two Israel embassy aides
Elias Rodriguez, a 31-year-old man, is accused of opening fire on a group of people outside the Lillian and Albert Small Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C. on May 22, 2025. He allegedly shouted slogans in support of Palestine and was subsequently taken into custody. The victims of the shooting were identified as Yaron Lischinsky, 31, and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, 26, who worked at the Israeli embassy. Rodriguez reportedly told police on the scene, "I did it for Palestine," and witnesses also heard him chant "Free Palestine" after being taken into custody. Rodriguez is facing charges of first-degree murder, murder of foreign officials, and causing death with a firearm. Federal prosecutors have also warned that the charges against him may not be the only ones he will face.
The UAE strongly condemned the shooting incident that killed two employees of the Israeli Embassy in Washington, expressing its utter denunciation of these criminal acts.
France has condemned, France condemns and France will continue to condemn, always and unequivocally, any act of anti-Semitism.
To President @Isaac—Herzog, I extended our thoughts to the families and loved ones of the victims.
We condemn this appalling, antisemitic crime. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families and colleagues at this awful time.
The Hungarian government rejects all forms of anti-Semitism. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims.
Unfortunately, antisemites around the world draw strength from villainous politicians in Israel, who accuse IDF soldiers of murdering children as a hobby.
Israeli representatives around the world are constantly exposed to heightened risk — especially in these times.
French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney have all, in different ways, emboldened the forces of terror through their failure to draw moral red lines.
