South Africa urges ICJ to consider Rafah intervention

South Africa has approached the International Court of Justice (ICJ) at The Hague with urgent requests to consider whether Israel's military operations in Rafah, a city in the Gaza Strip, are breaching provisional orders issued last month by the ICJ. These orders aimed to prevent genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. South Africa cited Section 1 of Article 75 of the Rules of Court, which allows the court to examine matters proprio motu (on its own initiative).
