Somalia expels Ethiopia's ambassador for interfering in internal affairs

Somalia has ordered the expulsion of Ethiopia's ambassador, Muktar Mohamed Ware, and recalled its own envoy to Addis Ababa. The Ethiopian ambassador was given a deadline of 72 hours to leave the country. In addition, Ethiopian consulates in Somaliland and Puntland have been ordered to close within seven days. The Somali cabinet accused Ethiopia of interfering with Somalia's internal affairs following a visit by a delegation headed by Puntland's finance minister to Ethiopia. Ethiopia signed a maritime deal with Somaliland in January, which appears to be the source of the tension.
