Rust film armourer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed sentenced to 18 months in prison

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the movie armorer on the set of "Rust," was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. The incident occurred when Gutierrez allegedly brought live ammunition onto the set, leading to Hutchins' fatal shooting. Despite her plea for a lesser sentence during her sentencing hearing in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Gutierrez was given an 18-month prison term by Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer. The judge stated that as the armorer, she was responsible for ensuring the safety of weapons on set and had failed in this duty, leading to the presence of six live rounds.
