Russian Helicopter with 22 Aboard Goes Missing in Far Eastern Region

A helicopter, identified as a Mi-8T, carrying 22 people, mostly tourists, went missing shortly after taking off from a base near the Vachkazhets volcano in the Kamchatka peninsula. The helicopter was on a trip to the volcano when it disappeared from radar. The incident occurred in the Far East region of Russia. Rescue teams were deployed to search for the missing aircraft, but the search was conducted at night due to low visibility caused by drizzle and fog in the area. The helicopter was designed in the 1960s and was carrying 19 passengers and three crew members on board.
