Russian Court Sets Trial Date for Detained Wall Street Journal Reporter Evan Gershkovich

Evan Gershkovich, a Wall Street Journal reporter, has been imprisoned in Russia for over a year after being accused of collecting "secret information" from a Russian tank factory. Prosecutors plan to put him on trial in Yekaterinburg, where he was arrested in March last year. However, Mr. Gershkovich, his newspaper, and the US government have all denied the charges. The US has officially designated him as "wrongfully detained". This is the first time an American journalist has been arrested on espionage charges in Russia since the Cold War. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
