Russia says its new Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile system is now operational

Russian military analysts said the announcement meant that the missile had been deployed in a silo. The silo-based missile is capable of carrying multiple nuclear warheads. It is intended to replace the R-36 ICBMs that are known by the NATO reporting name of Satan.
