Russia launches widespread attack on Ukrainian power sector

There have been multiple reports of escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine over the past few days. On Sunday, there were deadly aerial attacks in both countries. The Russian military claimed to have seized the Ukrainian village of Ivanivske on Saturday, which was followed by Ukrainian air defenses destroying 18 out of 29 missiles and 25 out of 28 attack drones. Kyiv and the western region of Lviv were reportedly subjected to "massive" Russian air attacks on Sunday morning, with officials in Kyiv urging citizens to remain in shelters. The Ukrainian capital and Kharkiv, its second-largest city, sustained significant damage from the attacks. On Friday, a militant attack on a Moscow concert hall resulted in at least 133 fatalities. Russia launched over 60 drones and 90 missiles against Ukraine's energy infrastructure on Sunday, which Ukrainian officials described as the most brutal attack since the full-scale war began in early 2022. The city of Kharkiv was hit the hardest by this assault.
