Russia Expels British Defence Attaché in Tit-for-Tat Response

Russia has ordered the British defense attaché in Moscow, Adrian Coghill, to leave the country within a week. This move is seen as a retaliatory measure in response to Britain's decision to expel a Russian military intelligence officer on May 8. The UK accused Russia of sponsoring espionage and hacking attacks against top British officials, claiming that the properties used for these activities were intelligence purposes. The Russian Foreign Ministry has described the expulsion as "politically motivated" and has threatened additional retaliatory measures. In response, the British Foreign Secretary has called the move a "desperate attempt" to distract from Russia's alleged wrongdoing.
