Romania centrist candidate wins presidential election rerun with narrow lead

Nicușor Dan won the Romanian presidential election with nearly 54% of the vote, while his rival George Simion received 46%. This outcome confirms Romania's alignment with the European Union. The high turnout, with nearly 65% of voters participating, was the highest in a Romanian election in a quarter of a century.
