Republican National Committee headquarters locked down due to suspicious package containing blood vials

A suspicious package containing two vials of blood was delivered to the United States Capitol building, prompting a response from the Capitol Police at 7:45am. According to reports, employees were initially evacuated from the building, but by mid-morning, they were allowed to re-enter after the substance was cleared by hazmat teams. Eyewitnesses noted several hazmat trucks outside the building around 8am, and while the area remained cordoned off, road closures on nearby streets and disruptions to public transportation, including the Capitol South metro station, were reported. Despite initial concerns, no arrests have been made and the incident is still under investigation.
