Baltic Sea Shipwreck
Polish divers uncover 19th-century shipwreck loaded with champagne and mineral water in Baltic Sea
Polish divers recently discovered a 19th-century shipwreck approximately 20 nautical miles south of the Swedish island of Oland. The wreck is believed to have sunk in the second half of the 19th century and is loaded with luxury goods, including 100 champagne bottles, crates of mineral water, and porcelain. The cargo is thought to have been intended for the royal table in Stockholm or the Russian tsar's residence in St. Petersburg. This is a significant discovery for the divers, with one team member stating it is the first time they have found a wreck with such a large quantity of cargo.
