Police raid rescues 251 children from Zimbabwe religious sect compound
According to multiple reports from Zimbabwean news sources, Zimbabwean police have arrested a man identified as Ishmael Chokurongerwa, who claimed to be a prophet and led an apostolic sect with over 1,000 members at a farm in Harare. Among the sect's members were 251 children, 246 of whom did not have birth certificates. The children were reportedly used as laborers on the farm without access to education or health services. Additionally, police discovered 16 unregistered graves at the farm, including those of seven infants. Chokurongerwa and seven of his aides have been charged with exploiting children.
