Philippine Authorities Arrest Church Leader Charged with Sex Trafficking and Abuse

Apollo Quiboloy, a Filipino preacher and ally of former President Duterte, has been arrested on charges of sexual abuse and human trafficking. The Philippine police chief confirmed his arrest, while Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos announced on Facebook that "Pastor Quiboloy has been caught". Quiboloy, who claims to be the "owner of the universe" and "appointed son of God", was wanted by both the FBI and local law enforcement on charges of child sex trafficking in the Philippines and the US. He was believed to be hiding in a bunker at a compound owned by his church, and was arrested after a standoff with police. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has urged Quiboloy to surrender.
