Palestinian President Abbas Urges UN to Intervene in Gaza Conflict

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has called on the international community to take action to stop the violence in the West Bank and Gaza. He has specifically requested that the international community stop sending weapons to Israel, stating that Washington continues to provide diplomatic cover and weapons to Israel despite the mounting death toll in Gaza. Abbas has also called for the suspension of Israel's membership in the United Nations General Assembly until Israel fulfills its obligations. He has emphasized the need to stop the "genocide" and "crime" being committed against Palestinian civilians, particularly children and women. Abbas has also highlighted the displacement of 2.4 million people in Gaza, who have been displaced at least once due to the war.
