Pakistan's former PM Imran Khan sentenced to 14 years in prison for corruption

Imran Khan has been held in custody since August 2023 on charges of corruption. The anti-graft court, which convened in the jail where Khan is being held, has convicted him and his wife Bushra Bibi. The court has sentenced Imran Khan to 14 years in jail and Bushra Bibi to 7 years. The conviction is related to a welfare foundation they established together, as well as Imran Khan's alleged acceptance of a gift of land from a real estate tycoon in exchange for laundered money.
