Pakistan Court Overturns Conviction Against Ex-PM Imran Khan and Wife in Unlawful Marriage Case

Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, and his wife Bushra Bibi were sentenced to seven years in prison in February on charges of unlawful marriage. However, a court in Lahore has acquitted them of these charges. Despite this acquittal, Khan is unlikely to be released from prison immediately as he still faces arrest warrants in three other cases. The authorities have indicated that new charges are likely to be filed against him.
