Ohio officer indicted in fatal shooting of pregnant Black woman Ta'Kiya Young

Ta'Kiya Young, a 21-year-old pregnant woman, was fatally shot by police officer Connor Grubb in the parking lot of a Kroger grocery store in Blendon Township, Ohio, on August 24, 2023. According to reports, Young was suspected of shoplifting and was approached by Grubb and another officer, who ordered her out of her car and confronted her about the accusations. Grubb then fired a single shot through her windshield, killing Young and her unborn child, who was approximately 25 weeks pregnant at the time of the shooting. The incident is under investigation, and Grubb faces four counts of murder and two counts of involuntary manslaughter.
