Nvidia unveils flagship AI chip, the B200

Nvidia announced several new developments at their annual developers conference on Monday, including the unveiling of the "Blackwell" series of AI chips, a quantum computing service, and tools for humanoid robotics. The Blackwell chips are designed to train large AI models, such as one the size of GPT-4, which would currently require 8,000 H100 chips and 15 megawatts of power. Nvidia's GPUs and software play a significant role in creating generative AI, with competitors AMD and Intel still struggling to match their power and efficiency. Other tech giants like Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon have also developed chips with AI in mind. The announcements aim to help Nvidia maintain its 80% market share in the AI chip industry by offering faster and more efficient technology than its competitors. Huang introduced the new chip as being 30 times faster at certain tasks than its predecessor.
