North Korea notifies Japan of planned satellite launch

According to the notifications received by Japan's coast guard, North Korea plans to launch a "satellite rocket" between May 27 and June 4. This is likely related to the country's efforts to launch its second military spy satellite into space, following the successful launch of its first military reconnaissance satellite in November last year. The announcement comes ahead of the first trilateral summit between Japan, South Korea, and China in nearly five years, which will take place in Seoul.
