North America prepares for breathtaking total solar eclipse event

On Monday, a total solar eclipse will take place over a significant portion of the United States. The path of totality, where the moon completely covers the sun, will span approximately 115 miles and cross thirteen states in the US, three in Mexico, and four in southeast Canada. This celestial event is a rare sight and the next total solar eclipse viewable in the contiguous US will not occur until 2037. Due to the high level of interest, numerous cities and states in the US and Canada have declared a state of emergency in anticipation of large crowds.
