Nine UNRWA staff members may have been involved in October 7 attacks according to UN

The United Nations has fired nine staff members from the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) over allegations that they may have been involved in the October 7 attacks on southern Israel by Hamas. The UN's Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) investigated the allegations and found evidence that suggested the nine staff members may have been involved in the attack. However, the UN spokesperson noted that the evidence was not conclusive and that further steps would be needed to fully corroborate the findings. The sackings follow a previous move by the UN to fire 12 staff members and put seven others on administrative leave without pay over similar allegations.
