Nine Thousand Evacuated in Northeast Canada Amid Raging Wildfires
According to reports, around 9,000 people have been evacuated from northeastern Canada due to wildfires. Residents of the towns of Labrador City and Wabush were ordered to leave their homes as a precautionary measure. The wildfire was described as "extremely aggressive" and had grown to cover an area of approximately 22,000 acres in just four hours, moving about 13 miles during that time. Provincial fire duty officer Jeff Motty stated that the fire is spreading rapidly, moving at a rate of around 50 meters per minute.
