Nigerian Chess Champion Tunde Onakoya Sets New Record with 60-Hour Marathon Play in Times Square
Tunde Onakoya, a 29-year-old chess master, broke the world record for the longest chess marathon by playing non-stop for 60 hours from Wednesday to Saturday morning. The previous record was held by Hallvard Haug Flatebo and Sjur Ferkingstad of Norway, who played for 56 hours, 9 minutes, and 37 seconds in 2018.
