New Zealand minister resigns over incident involving contact with staffer

Commerce and Consumer Affairs Minister Andrew Bayly has resigned from his ministerial positions following an incident where he allegedly placed his hand on a staff member's upper arm. The incident led to Bayly describing his behaviour as "overbearing", with the minister for commerce and consumer affairs stating that his conduct was unacceptable. This is the second instance of Bayly offering an apology for his ministerial conduct. Despite the resignation, Bayly will remain a member of parliament as the representative for Port Waikato.
