New Zealand Fugitive Spotted with Missing Children After Years on the Run

Tom Phillips, a New Zealand fugitive, and his three children (Ember, 8, Maverick, 9, and Jayda, 11) have been on the run since December 2021, when they disappeared from their family home. Phillips is believed to have taken his children into the bush in the western Waikato region, where they have been hiding and camping. Despite multiple police searches and helicopter operations, the family had evaded capture until last Thursday, when they were spotted by a group of teenage pig hunters, who filmed the encounter on their phones.
