New York City's Flaco the owl dies after colliding with a building

According to multiple reports, an owl named Flaco was found dead on the sidewalk of Manhattan's Upper West Side after apparently colliding with a building. The incident occurred near the Central Park Zoo where Flaco was originally housed. The zoo and zoologists are still investigating how Flaco came to be outside of his enclosure, as they believe this may have contributed to his death. A necropsy was performed on Flaco at the Bronx Zoo, and it was determined that he was in good physical condition prior to the incident. The weight of Flaco was recorded as 1.89 kilograms (4.1 pounds), which is only 2% less than his last recorded weight.
