New Orleans attacker identified as 42-year-old Texas man Shamsud Din Jabbar, truck had ISIS flag

The suspect in the New Year's Day attack in New Orleans was identified as Shamsud Din Jabbar, a 42-year-old US citizen. He was driving a rented Ford pickup truck with an ISIS flag attached to it when he intentionally crashed into crowds, killing at least ten people. According to the FBI, Jabbar opened fire on police during a brief shootout, and a possible IED was found in his vehicle. The incident was described as a terrorist attack.
