Netanyahu orders military to plan Rafah evacuation

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel has ordered the military to draw up plans for evacuating civilians and toppling Hamas brigades in Rafah. However, US President Joe Biden has criticized such an operation, calling it "over the top," and stating that Washington would not support any military action without due consideration for civilians. The National Security Council warned that an attack on the refugee-filled city would be a "disaster." Approximately 1.4 million Palestinians are currently sheltering in Rafah, many of whom have been displaced multiple times since the start of the war.
