Nationwide Power Outage Hits Chile Leaving Millions Without Electricity

A massive blackout occurred in Chile on Tuesday, February 25, affecting 14 of the country's 16 regions. The outage, which stretched from Arica in the north to Los Lagos in the south, was caused by a disruption in the high-voltage transmission line that carries power from the Atacama Desert. President Gabriel Boric has declared a state of emergency in the affected regions to prevent crimes.
