Nation after nation condemns China's persecution of Uyghurs at UN

China was publicly condemned by dozens of countries at the UN meeting in Geneva, where representatives from 160 countries urged China to improve its rights record. Due to the exceptional turnout of countries wishing to speak at the meeting, each party had only 45 seconds to make its case. The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) focused on Xinjiang, a remote region where China has allegedly detained more than 1 million Uyghurs.
