NATO Transfers F-16 Fighter Jets to Ukraine Amid Ongoing International Diplomacy Efforts

NATO leaders met in Washington with military spending and weapons for Ukraine topping the agenda. The meeting comes as Russia has intensified its military pressure on Kyiv, conducting large-scale strikes on Ukrainian air bases over a few days. This is not the first time Russia has targeted Ukraine. In response, President Joe Biden committed to providing a new air defense system for Kyiv and urged unity against Russian President Vladimir Putin. The White House subsequently announced that Denmark and the Netherlands have begun sending F-16 jets to Ukraine.
