NASA Crew Emerges from Simulated Mars Habitat After Year-Long Isolation

A team of four scientists, Anca Selariu, Ross Brockwell, Nathan Jones, and Kelly Haston, have completed a year-long simulated Mars mission in Houston, Texas. The 378-day experiment was conducted inside NASA's first simulated Martian habitat, covering an area of approximately 17,000 square feet. During this time, the scientists lived and worked together to simulate what it would be like to embark on a real mission to the Red Planet. This research aims to help scientists anticipate the challenges and necessities required for a successful human mission to Mars.
