Multiple Deadly Attacks on Places of Worship in Dagestan Leave Nine Dead, 25 Injured

The recent attacks in Derbent and Makhachkala, cities in the Russian region of Dagestan, have resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries. The incidents occurred on Pentecost Sunday, a religious holiday in the Russian Orthodox Church. According to reports, at least nine people were killed, including six police officers, a priest, a security guard, and two militants. Additionally, over 25 individuals were injured. The attacks targeted various locations, including a synagogue, two Orthodox churches, and a police post. The Russian Investigative Committee has opened criminal probes into "acts of terror" related to the incidents.
