Gangs in Haiti
More than 33,000 people have fled Haiti's capital in 13 days as gang violence continues
Approximately 33,000 individuals have evacuated Haiti's capital within a two-week timeframe. The majority of these displaced people have relocated to the southern region of the country. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has attributed this mass exodus to escalating attacks and overall insecurity. Additionally, according to recent reports, over 4.97 million Haitians are currently experiencing a food crisis. Eight regions, including the Artibonite valley, rural areas of the Grand-Anse peninsula, and parts of the capital such as Cite Soleil, have been significantly impacted by this crisis.
