According to various reports, Sandu obtained between 54.7% and 54.94% of the vote, with Stoianoglo securing around 45% of the vote. The election was widely seen as a referendum on Moldova's future, with Sandu advocating for the country's integration into the European Union (EU) and Stoianoglo backed by pro-Russian forces.
