Mexican Mayoral Candidate Shot Dead at Campaign Rally

A recent wave of violence has struck Mexico, with a mayoral candidate being fatally shot in the town of Coyuca de Benitez. The attack was captured on video, showing a person approaching Alfredo Cabrera at a campaign event and shooting him multiple times at close range. This is not an isolated incident, as at least 22 people running for local office have been murdered since last September, according to government reports. Two other candidates were shot the day before this latest attack, according to Guerrero state governor. The prosecutor's office announced that the alleged attacker was killed at the scene.
