Massive Floods Hit Southwest Germany

Heavy rainfall has caused severe flooding in the southwestern German state of Saarland, with streets submerged underwater and emergency workers rescuing residents from boats. Despite the severity of the situation, no fatalities have been reported, although at least one person was injured. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is scheduled to visit the affected area later on Saturday. The flooding has also impacted neighboring Belgium, where the province of Liege experienced severe flooding overnight into Saturday, but no deaths were reported there either.
