Gangs in Haiti
Massacre in Haiti's Citè Soleil leaves over 110 elderly people dead over alleged witchcraft
According to the articles, a mass murder took place in Cite Soleil, a slum in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The perpetrator of the violence was identified as Monel "Mikano" Felix, the leader of the Wharf Jeremie gang. The victims were elderly people, with a reported death toll of at least 110 people over the course of two days.
It appears that Felix targeted these individuals because of a perceived accusation of witchcraft, which he believed had caused his child's illness. The alleged catalyst for this accusation was a priest who allegedly pointed to elderly people in the area as the suspected perpetrators of this alleged witchcraft.
