Magnitude 6.2 earthquake strikes off the coast of Istanbul
On Wednesday local time, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck Istanbul, causing over 150 people to be hospitalized with injuries sustained while fleeing buildings. According to the Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya, the earthquake occurred in Silivri, Sea of Marmara, and was followed by 51 aftershocks, with the largest being 5.9 magnitude.
