Macron Meets with Ukrainian Troops Trained in France Prior to Talks with Zelensky in Paris

French President Emmanuel Macron is scheduled to hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Paris on Thursday. This meeting is a reaffirmation of French support for Ukraine in its conflict against Russia. Macron also recently visited a military camp in eastern France to inspect the training of Ukrainian troops, who are being battle-readied and armed by France for front-line deployment. Zelensky is currently on a 48-hour trip to London, Paris, Rome, and Berlin, where he is seeking a military and financial boost. During his meetings with European leaders, including UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and NATO chief Mark Rutte, Zelensky emphasized that a ceasefire with Russia is not under discussion.
