London Hospitals Hit by Cyber Attack

A recent cyber-attack is believed to have been carried out by a Russian group, targeting Synnovis, a supplier of medical testing services. As a result, several major London hospitals, including Guy's and St Thomas' Trust (GSTT), were forced to switch back to using paper records systems due to the disruption caused by the attack. The ransomware cyberattack led to the cancellation of various services and the diversion of patients. Additionally, the outage has resulted in the cancellation of operations and procedures involving blood transfusions at hospitals that rely on Synnovis for testing services.
