Lawyers seek $5.6 billion in fees after Elon Musk pay ruling victory

In a recent development, lawyers representing Tesla in a lawsuit against Elon Musk's compensation have petitioned the Delaware Chancery Court for approximately $6 billion in legal fees. According to the attorneys, this large fee is justified due to the significant benefit derived by Tesla from their successful argument that Musk's $56 billion pay packet was illegal. The firms involved, Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossmann, have acknowledged the record-breaking fee which would equate to nearly $300,000 an hour. Another report states that the lawyers are requesting company stock worth US$5.6 billion as legal fees, making it the largest such award if approved.
