The case involves four suspects, residents of the Los Angeles area, who are accused of fabricating a story about a bear breaking into their Rolls-Royce Ghost in Lake Arrowhead, California. The suspects allegedly created and submitted video footage to their insurance company to support their claim. However, investigators from the California Department of Insurance became suspicious of the video's authenticity and launched an investigation. The investigation revealed that the group had defrauded three insurance companies of nearly $142,000. The suspects were arrested and charged with insurance fraud and conspiracy.
