Kenyan Officials Arrive in Haiti Ahead of Planned Security Mission

Kenyan President William Ruto is currently on a visit to the United States, aiming to strengthen economic and security cooperation. A notable highlight of his trip will be talks with US President Biden at the White House on Thursday. Meanwhile, Kenya has dispatched special forces police to Haiti, with reports suggesting that around 200 officers are expected to arrive in the coming days. This move comes as US Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned that Haiti is "on the precipice of becoming an all-out failed state." A small advance group of Kenyan officers had already landed in Port-au-Prince on Monday.
