Kami Rita Extends Record with 29th Mount Everest Summit

Kenton Cool, a 50-year-old British climber, and Kami Rita Sherpa, a 54-year-old Nepali guide, have both reached the summit of Mount Everest. Cool has made his 18th ascent, while Sherpa has extended his record for the most summits by a Nepali climber to 29 times. Additionally, Cool's 18th summit also sets a new record for the most summits by a foreigner.

Kami Rita Sherpa, a 54-year-old Nepalese climber, has broken his own record by reaching the summit of Mount Everest twice in a week. According to reports, he reached the 8,849-meter (29,032-foot) peak at 7:25 a.m. local time on Sunday and was already descending to lower camps after being reported in good health. This feat marks Rita's most climbs of the world's highest peak, with his competitor Pasang Dawa also vying for the title.
